Allow for greater access to pit equipment. Inner cover gives 18 inch diameter when opened. However, inner and outer cover open allows for 23.5 inch diameter. The inner cover can be opened a full 180 degrees with a 25 Lb (11.4 Kg) single hand lift. The outer cover can be opened approximately 120 degrees with approximately the same amount of force required.
